Who should attend?

i. Existing IT Certification holders who wish to leverage on their certification credits and gain Strategic Business and Project / Task Management training with IT focus.

ii. Other IT or related professionals who wish to acquire both “Hardcore IT Technical Skills" as well as relevant IT focused management and business knowledge.

Programme Structure

Stage 1: NCC Education Professional Diploma in Strategic Business IT - This is a 9 month part-time programme for (Reg No. 251149,  existing MCSE/CCNP certification holders or equivalent may complete in 6 months):

i. Degree holders in IT,
ii. Non-IT degree holders but with 3 years IT experience with some supervisory experience,
iii. Non-degree IT professional with at least 5 years IT experience

Delivery Mode: Class Based or Online Video Class
Completion of which will be awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Business IT and can proceed to Stage 2 MSc SBIT

Syllabus
Module 1 IT The Next Five Years / Principles of Enquiry
(PMSC001)
Explores the broader contexts in which Information Systems (IS) operate and their wider implications. Identifies external events which cause uncertainty within the IS design process. Assesses and reconciles ethical  issues.
Module 2 Task Management
(PMSC002)
Provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to handle the uncertainty of task management for information systems projects. Assesses and evaluates the impact of human behaviour and communication, and teaches approaches to task management.
Module 3 Strategic Business Analysis
(PMSC003)
Explores the issue surrounding the application of information technology in defining strategic objectives. Reflects upon the purpose of strategic analysis and strategic planning. Identifies the application of tools and techniques.
Module 4 Computer Networking and Management
(PMSC004)
To equip the candidates with knowledge and skills in the underlying principles of networking with special focus on internetworking, while at the same time emphasizing Internet protocols and network applications Student who have MCSE, MCSD, CCNP, Novell CLE, CNE can exempt this module.

Stage 2: The University of Portsmouth MSc in Strategic Business IT (Research + Project, 3 - 6 months via online distance learning)

Delivery Mode: Online Support from the University of Portsmouth plus individual tutor support. Completion of an online research methodology and a project. The MSc is awarded by the University of Portsmouth.
